Important Information Regarding ERDBA berths for Penang 2008

There has been some confusion regarding how ERDBA teams will be awarded berths for CCWC in Penang 2008. The winners are decided based on overall points won in the ERDBA race circuit for a particular division-not a race-off. There is no race-off in Princeton/Lake Mercer. The Princeton/Lake Mercer event is just one of many other festivals in which teams will be able to accrue points for the ERBDA circuit.

The ERDBA has the ability to send one team from each of the following divisions:

Premier Open
Premier Mixed
Premier Women
Youth
BCS
Senior Open
Senior Mixed
Senior Women
Grand Master Open
Grand Master Mixed
Grand Master Women

The ERDBA circuit races will allow us to establish winners for Premier Open, Mixed and Women, Youth, and BCS.

If Princeton/Lake Mercer, the last race of the 2007 ERDBA Race Circuit, is able to run separate divisions for Senior and/or Grand Masters divisions, we will be able to use the points earned in this festival to determine an ERDBA winner for these divisions.

In the event that the Senior and Grand Master Open, Mixed and Women’s divisions are not raced in any of the ERDBA circuit festivals, we will be accepting requests for awards of the non-raced divisions. The Proposal Requests for the open slots will be accepted until October 30, 2007. If you submit a proposal and are ultimately awarded an open slot, you will need to commit to sending a team to Penang. We will be announcing the 2007 ERDBA Circuit Champions at our General Membership Meeting being held on Saturday, October 13th in the Philadelphia area.
